The smell of candles in shops will keep your mind at peace. You love to go in the Candle department, take a scented candle, and love to savor the smell on it.
Sometimes, the candles are pack in a box or plastic wrapper. You love to place your nostrils near the tip of the glass. Every human being has their own favorite scent. It may be lemon grass, citrus, rosmarie, jasmin, fruity, vanilla, lime, baby powder and many more. I am one of those individuals who loves to see the burning candle with a scent coming straight through my soul. It helps calm and soothe my mind after a long day. It gives the entire room a sweet fragrance after cooking a meal. For others, they light a candle in the bathroom while taking a warm bath in a bathtub to relax.
I like to give gifts that is DIY. It is meaningful and the person who did it gave his/her time to finish a product. I decided last Christmas 2020 to make a DIY Candle.

Here are the things that you need to prepare:
-soy wax/bees wax
-candle wicks, plastic tapes, metal bow tie or chopsticks
-double boiler with a heat proof container
-thermometer
-spatula
Extra: fragrance oil
Procedure:
1. Prepare all the materials needed which includes your choice of glass, attached the candle wick in the middle of the glass and secure it using a metal bow-tie. It should hold the wick nicely. Another options are chopsticks or any symmetrical sticks. Place the wick in the middle of the two sticks and the wick should stay upright.
2. Let the wax melt in your double boiler, stir it frequently. Temperature: 185‘ F Upon achieving the desired temperature, remove it from heat.

3. Add your fragrance oil immediately and stir it gently. Allow the wax to simmer up to 135’F. If you stir it too fast, there will be accumulation of air in the wax. Proper temperature is important so that the fragrance oil wont evaporize. Please read the label of your fragrance oil, up to how much should you add in your candle wax. For some instance, the percentage does not include, place up to 8% of oil in your boiled wax. The fragrance depends in your preference.
4. With the desired temperature, pour the wax slowly in your container. Pouring it fast may result into craters, spaces and sink holes in your candle.
5. Let it dry in a room temperature.

Practice makes perfect. If you like the feeling of having candles customized by yourself then it is the perfect time to do it. I bought my materials in Amazon.
