Seth Swirsky, a clinical psychotherapist says, „the word Stress itself can makes us stressed“ according to his book 21 Ways to Happier Depression.
Let‘s say you are currently stressed from external factors, may it be school, work or family affairs, how do you cope up from it? Do you just sleep at night and the next day after, you are feeling relieved? Or does it make you crazy? Coping up from stress may vary from each individuals.
Here are some ways to relieve your mind from stressful situations:

1. Go for a walk. When the time comes and your heartbeat blews up, take a deep breath and look for some fresh air. This may help calm your mind and think deeply. If you are stressed, you tend to say unnecessary words that might hurt other feelings. Think before you speak.
2. Exercise. Some people do strenuous exercise to cope up from a tiring day. They say by doing so, the heart pumps more blood which leads to sweating and the mind helps them focus on their goal. After a exhausting activity, the body will be calm and the brain stops from thinking of stress.
3. Meditation. The body will go into silence, thus your stress production hormone, cortisol and adrenaline will be reduced. Some neurotransmitter hormones(ex. Dopamine and Endorphins) will be released from the brain in which it will make the body alert, happy and free from pain.
4. Listen to music. Listening to your favorite band will help you feel good. The brain releases Dopamine transmitters to the body.
5. Eat healthy foods. Some people eats more unhealthy snacks when they are being stressed. Eating healthy foods helps nourish your body thus keeping your mind to think well.
6. Talk to your trusted friends or family about your problem.
7. Find a hobby. Instead of thinking all day about your situation try to look for a hobby that will make you happy and satisfied. Some individuals are painting and writing their emotions.
8. Sleep.
If all the above mentioned did not help, change your situation. Life is short to linger on unhealthy mind habits. Stay positive. All problems have their own solution. Hang in there.
