It’s worth the visit!
1. The New Town Hall
is located in Marienplatz, it is a town hall in Munich, Germany. Here you can find offices of the mayor and a few portion administration. The Town Hall tower or Rathaustürm is 85meters long. At the top of the tower is the fifth largest clockwork in Europe, which was first heard in the year 1908. The 43 bells costed 154,000 Goldmarks in which the 32,000 marks was donated by a furniture and antique dealer. [1] The clock is triggered with 6 different reels according to seasons. If you want to hear and watch the dancing clock, it plays daily at 11:00 and 12:00. During the month of March to October it also plays at 17:00.


2. Viktualien Markt
is a market with stalls in which you can buy different kinds of cheese, poultry, flowers, exotic fruits, spices, meats, fishes and so on. It is located in the middle of the city. During October Festival, this market is full of people because the state allows to place some stalls for Coffee, Biergarten(drinking beer in an open area) and other kiosks to cater local and tourists. This is a popular meeting place for young and older people.

3. Karlsplatz- Stachus
Karlsplatz or Stachus as famously knowned, is one of the most famous places in Munich. There is a famous saying in German ‘Da geht’s zu wie am Stachus’, which means that this square is always busy. Here you can find beautiful old architectural buildings. Below is a trainline connected to some parts in the city. It is a place where you can chill, eat and do shopping. If you like to explore Munich, you should walk here going to Marienplatz and enjoy the scenery. Until now the name Karlsplatz-Stachus is a controversy for native Bavarians. The people are still confused if it is called Karlsplatz or Stachus. It is named Stachus before, after the famous pub ‘Beim Stachus’, that once owned by Eustachius Föderl.
The square was officially called Karlsplatz in 1797, named by Charles Theodore, Elector of Council.

Karlstor in Stachus belongs to one of the three oldest towers in Munich, it was damaged after the end of 18th Century.

4. Rezidenz Schloss
The Residence is the largest city palace in Germany and is located in central Munich. It is the former royal palace of the Wittelsbach Monarchs of Bavaria. The complexity of the place contains 130 rooms and ten courtyards. The first building was built in the year 1385. The fortress walls, gate in the north and two turrets were built around the year 1470. Over centuries, the palace was developed and grew out of several parts and extensions. The three main parts are the Königsbau, Alte-Rezidenz and the Festsaalbau.
You can do a day tour and see the palace from inside. You should visit the Bronze Halls, Hercules Hall, which is used as a concert hall today, the All Saints court church, the Treasury and the royal apartment of the Bavarian King Ludwig I.






5. Englischer Garten
or known as English Garden, is one of the largest inner-city park in the world. It is even larger than the Central Park in New York. It has a total of 375 hectares. If you want some peace of mind and escape the city life for a while, this is the place where you can relax. Here, you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Monopteros, relax in the beer garden at the Chineese Tower, watch surfers in the Eisbach waves. In the park you will find 4 beer gardens and some kiosks. During summer, a lot of people do some picnis at the side of the River. You can also find some toilets for emergencies.


6. Nymphenburg Palace
Or known as ‘Schloss Nymphenburg’ in German, is located in the west of the city. If you are fond of extravagant palaces with beautiful landscapes, then this is the place to be. It was built as a summer residence for the Kings and Electors during 17-19th century. During summer, you can take a gondola ride on the flowing palace canal grounds. When you are lucky, you can also find some reindeers in the park. Inside the palace is considered to be the most impressive remains of the royals and electors. You should definitely take a look on it. You can also find some museums inside. The museums are as follows: The Marstall Museum, Porcelain Museum, Natural history museum and the Erwin von Kreibig Museum. The palace has day tour in which you can buy a ticket and rent some audio guides if you wished too. If you have more time, you can walk through the park grounds and take some amazing shots in the fountains, little castles, and landscape gardens. You can also find a restaurant around the area.




7. Olympia Park or ‘Olympic Park’
Is the site of the 1972 olympic game. After the olympic games in 1972, the city decided to developed a 300 hectare recreation center. You can find a lot of ascending and descending slopes in which joggers,and cyclists are enjoying. There is also a big Swimming Hall in the area, a lake, the famous Olympia Hill in which you can have a panorama view of Munich, the Alps and the Sea-Life Center-a zoo with more than 10,000 dieffrent aquatic creatures. During day time, you can find a lot of walkers with their dogs roaming around the park. During Spring to Summer season you can do a boat ride in the lake. It is also a place of events and festivals.


If you love sunrise and sunset views, this is the place to be.

8. BMW (Bayerische Motoren Werke)
On the other side of the Olympiapark, you can find the BMW World Museum.
If you adore cars, you should not miss this place. You can see how BMW company started and about 125 displays of valuable automobiles, motorcycles and engines. You can also experience their vision of tomorrow’s automobile.

9. Frauenkirche
or „Cathedral of our Dear Lady“, is a cathedral located in the middle of the city. It is easily distinguishable due to its high twin tower. It has an interesting Gothic Renaissance architecture style and was built in 12th century. You can see from the photo that it has two domes and two towers with a height of 99meters. Since November 2004, it is prohibited in Munich to built a building exceeding 99meters height. You can go and climb the stairs in the south tower to see the amazing city and breathtaking alps. [2]


10. Hofbräuhaus München
is is a famous 3 floor beer Hall with a bavarian restaurant dating back to the 16th century. Here, you can see their traditions and listen some folk music. It can cater up to 3500 guests and Hofbräuhaus brews their own beer. The workers are wearing old traditional clothes, which is called lederhosen and Dirndl. If you want to experience a restaurant with full of Bavarian Culture, this is the place to be.

11. Universität/ University belt
This is an area where you can see architectures and meet young people. During the afternoon, you can find a lot of students roaming around and other professionals. You can also find some good restaurants in the area. If you walk through the main street, you can see a beautiful Siegestor.


12. Münchner Freiheit
is a busy place in Schwabing, Munich. Below the ground is a train line and you can find buses and trams in the street. Here you can find a lot of different good restaurants and shopping center.


13. Sendlinger Tör or Sendling Gate
Located at Sendlinger Street 49, is the border between Altstadt and Isarvorstadt. Here you can find an old gate which belongs to the three oldest gothic gate in Munich and was built in 14th Century. Below the ground is a U-train station. If you walk through the tower you can find some shopping centers in the old city.

14. Isartor
Belongs to the three old gothic gates in Munich. During the mediaval times, this was served as one of the main gates in town. The gate was named after the river Isar. This was built in the year 1337.

If you want to visit Germany, i suggest you to visit Munich. There are still other beautiful places in the town which was not in the list. It is better to come personally and experience this breathtaking city.
