Streets full of lights, Christmas songs playing non-stop, families dashing their Christmas tree, people buying gifts, a smell of roasted chestnuts, small kids making Snowman and a taste of cinnamon sweet cookies. All of these makes us excited but for some people who are working a thousand miles away from their family, it cripples their heart. They wish that the speed of time will move fast until they will be able to meet their longing family.
We are indeed thankful to our technology that we can always communicate with our loved ones. Those happy virtual smiles makes us strong.
Days before Christmas, your family wishes are ready, you will jot it down on a piece of paper, smiles with answer back, and then all wishes are granted. There were times that you have to go to a courier and send gifts a month before Christmas, since you are in a thousand miles away from your family. We all know that the delivery time of the parcel can go up to months. And if you are lucky enough, you wont have any problems from Customs.
The night of 24.December came- your family cooked a lot of festive dishes and you could hear the Christmas songs playing from the video stream. It is still early in your country or maybe late but you chose to wear your decent shirt/dress and celebrate with your family. You cooked one to two dishes, buy a piece of cake to show to them that distance is not a hindrance to have fun.
It may be sad to celebrate alone away from your family but the True Christmas is loving one another despite the distance. With this, it makes you strong as an individual who works away from your parents, children’s, grandparents and relatives.
