DIY SPRING MASK for Instagram/Pinterest or other Social Media platform

How is Spring coming this year?

This year 2021 is the second Spring Season during the CoVid 19 Pandemie.

Learn the new norm. Accept the new reality. Wearing of mask daily outside our homes are the new norms. Why not create your own DIY mask that fits your own style. In early years, the covering of nose and mouth is necessary for healthcare providers to protect themselves against contagious diseases.

Fun fact: In the year 1897, Johann Mikulicz and Carl Flügge discovered respiratory droplets carried culturable bacteria. After the experiment, they started to use a mask made of gauze with a two string attach to the cap covering their nose, mouth and beard. In the year (1910-1911) Manchurian plague and Influenza pandemic (1918-1919), medical workers were required to wear mask covering their mouth, nose and beard to prevent the spread of infection.

As time goes by, mask continues to develop in health care.

During the first decades of the 20th century health practitioners attempted to determine the most efficient type of masks. Masks were made of several layers of cotton gauze,at times with another layer of impervious material, which is held by a metal frame. The goal was to prevent respiratory droplets to be transmitted to the wearer. Most masks during 20th century were washable and the metal parts could be sterilised.

In 1930, medical mask was replaced by a disposable mask made of paper. In 1960s, they started to used from synthetic material and is disposable.

In 1975, one of the last studies of manufactured cotton mask, the author concluded noted that “cotton fabrics may be as effective as synthetic fabrics when incorporated in a good mask design”. Further research was made and said that reusable masks were potentially unsafe.

Here is an idea on how to create an art design mask during this Quarantine times. You can do it together with your small children and is suitable for all ages. It will be fun.

This masks is made of fresh leaves and orchid flowers from my own room garden.

How to do it:

Step 3:

Get ready with your preffered flower and leaves.

Step 4:

Use your own mind creation on how you want to design your mask.

Step 5:

Finish product.

After finishing the mask, i took some photos and posted it on Instagram because it was kitchy and cute. How about yours? Comment and Post below if you also did some.
